Welcome to Sacred Journey Images, a gallery of artwork by MaryBeth Rapisardo.
My paintings are inspired by meditation and dreams, living inner pictures of exquisite beauty and joy. To translate these images into two-dimensional paintings, I have called upon symbolism from Nature and various spiritual concepts. I have also used Sacred Geometry as the underlying structure in many of the pieces. The spiral, for instance, is found in many configurations in Nature. The nautilus shell is one example and many plants’ leaves grow up the stem in a spiral spaced in such a way that each leaf can receive the sun it needs. Pine cones grow in double spirals, like the paths into the center of a labyrinth and back out again. The centers of the sunflower and daisy also have double spirals as does the pattern in the peacock’s fan. In our bodies we find little spirals in our fingertips, in the whorl of the hair at the crown center and in the structure of the brain and the heart. Our galaxy looks like a giant spiral, pulsating with life. Through symbolism and Sacred Geometry we can see the Divine in all things which expresses through us as an abundance of all that is good in life.
These works are about the celebration of the inner journey. It is my hope that they may remind you in some way of your own unique beauty, wisdom and creative power...that you may take up the fantastic challenge of intentionally, joyfully, creating the life you truly desire.
